13 DESSERT PROVENCALE

Though he is from Southwest, my husband spent half of his youngster in Marseille, the South of France. He loves Mediterranian food and this Christmas I make a last minute decision to provide traditional French Food. One of them is the 13 desserts from south of France.  We can provide and exchange some ingredients depending on whatever we can find, but there are some important element that symbolise something.

  1. Walnut symbolise St. August
  2. Dry figues symbolise St. Francis
  3. Almond symbolise Carmes
  4. Dry grapes symbolise Dominican
  5. Pithiver symbolise the 3 Kings from the East
  6. Orange
  7. Lychee
  8. Papillote
  9. Dates
  10. White grapes
  11. Bûche or Christmas log
  12. Fruit candy
  13. Cherries
