INDONESIAN SPICE & THEIR HEALING POWER 1

Indonesian cooking is very rich in spices as well as chillies.

The country is also called ARCHIPELAGO OF SPICE as there are many spices grow in our land. Cloves, cinnamon, roots and also coriander.

The Indonesian spice has been imported since the Dutch colonialism.

Indonesian also belief that the spices coming from the roots have healing power, that's why we have the traditional beverage of JAMU. Let's have a look below to explore the healing power of Indonesian roots.













SHALOT (bawang merah)
is very good to reduce the risk of osteophorosis





CANDLE NUT (Kemiri)
is really good for the hair growth. Smash the nuts until the oil appear & put to the head before washing your hair.






KAFFIR LIME LEAVES (Daun jeruk)
some people say can reduce high blood pressure

KAEMPFERIA GALANGA (kencur)
can be incread the apetite. My parents used to smashed this root with uncooked rice to put for reumathism.








LEMON GRASS (Sereh)
boil with ginger will help to cure headache













CURCUMA (Kunyit)
is anti oxydant and cure many ulterus infection


















GINGER (Jahe)
good for cough and fever

















GALANGA (Lengkuas)
The red one is mixed with vinegar as masker to clean the face skin
